Okay, that’s not quite right, but it’s been way too long since I’ve put something out into the world.

It hasn’t been 84 years in the making, but it has been close to 8. The story started life as a 2014 NaNoWriMo called Historyland, set in a walk-through Titanic attraction. Like the designers of Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion at Disneyland, I realized that a ride would work better for the story.

I literally can’t count the number of changes I made to the story through the years. But now, right before the 110th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, it’s finally time to let the world meet Liam, Clara, and Rocky, and explore the world of Historytown, a fictional theme park in an alternate Eloy, Arizona.

The novel has a bit of almost everything I love and a lot of me in it, as well as a character I find inspirational and aspirational. I’ve read the novel and edited it so many times over the years that I’m almost surprised my eyes still work, and yet I still adore the story and the characters.
